This year, UK greenhouse gas emissions plummeted by 8.6%, mainly due to the recession rather than new measures introduced by Government. The Committee on Climate Change (CCC) forecasts an annual 4% reduction in carbon emissions to 2022.
As the economy improves, the Committee highlights the need for a required ‘step-change’ in the Government’s approach in key areas to achieve this target, including improvements in home energy efficiency.

A County Durham couple are now enjoying warmer visits from their grandchildren after becoming the first in their community to embrace green technology. An Oxfordshire family has just come back from a dream holiday in Spain funded entirely out of savings in their heating costs thanks to a new system which uses renewable energy from the outdoor air to slash fuel bills.
The system – called an Ecodan® air source heat pump – has dramatically lowered the costs to heat the 3-bedroomed home near Chipping Norton and enabled the Pearce family to not only pay for their holiday but also repay all outstanding bills with their electricity supplier.

Honeywell has added a further 30 one day Installer Training Courses during the second half of 2010, at venues throughout the UK and Northern Ireland.
The Course was recently updated extensively to include all the latest aspects of heating controls, installations, energy conservation and updates to Building Regulations. Curzon has relocated its Edinburgh branch at North Leith Sands to join its sister brand Graham on a site in Craigentinny to create a new heating and plumbing “super branch”.
