Autonomous control for every tap and heating zone in luxury six bedroom home

H2O Plumbing and Heating Services has installed two Potterton Promax System 24 HE Plus boilers in an exclusive new property built by Cala Homes in Gerrards Cross. At almost £3 million, the luxury six bedroom home benefits from zoned underfloor heating to the ground and first floor, traditional radiators on the second floor, and six bath or shower rooms.
Dave Grove, Estimating and Technical Manager for H2O, in conjunction with Baxi NewDesign, was responsible for designing and project managing the heating system. He said: “The unique heating and plumbing system for this property has been designed so that every tap and heating zone can be controlled autonomously.
“All mains water (apart from drinking) is passed through a water softener, and stored in a 450 litre water storage tank in the garage. A booster pump is then used to distribute the hot and cold water through out the house. The Potterton boilers are installed side by side in the garage. Boiler one is used to heat the ground floor underfloor heating system, feed a 300 litre Heatrae Sadia Megatech hot water storage cylinder and heat towel rails in three bathrooms.
“Boiler Two heats the first floor underfloor heating and second floor radiators, a 250 litre Heatrae Sadia Megatech hot water storage cylinder, towel rails in the remaining bathrooms and the ground floor shower and WC.”
“Potterton’s NewDesign service checked the underfloor heating plans and hot water requirements for this installation and recommended the use of two Potterton Promax System 24 HE Plus boilers. And, as our preferred boiler supplier, we had absolutely no qualms about using the Promax System boiler in this exclusive property”, concluded Dave.
