Mitsubishi Electric demonstrates how effective Ecodan can be at Ideal Home Show
(25/03/2009)
This year's Ideal Home Show homes are based on an unprepossessing 1960s house which has been re-worked and upgraded to reveal two brand new homes which meet the Code for Sustainable Homes. The Smarter Living Showcase will focus on the very best new gadgets and appliances designed for good looks, high performance and clever ways of saving space, energy and money.
The Ecodan® range of residential heating products is taking centre stage at this year’s Ideal Home Show (20 March – 13 April – Earls Court) with appearances at both of the exhibition’s Show Homes and in the ‘Smarter Living Showcase’.
Ecodan, which has been specifically designed for the UK market, is an air source heat pump that can be fitted by a qualified plumber to offer a reduction in running costs of up to 30% over gas boilers and a cut in CO2 emissions of 50%. Savings over oil, LPG and direct electric heating are even greater.
“It’s become increasingly clear over the past two years that air source heat pumps are the future of mass market, low carbon heating for British homes and we will be using this Show to prove it,” commented John Kellett, general manager of Mitsubishi Electric’s Heating Systems. “We have also collected detailed data from a number of live installations around the country and can demonstrate just how effective Ecodan can be throughout a typical winter.”
