Oventrop valves installed at The Peak retail building in London

The Peak is a prestigious new nine-storey headquarter and retail building, opposite Victoria Station, London. It comprises retail units on the ground and first floor levels and office floors from the second to the sixth floor with clear spaces of 950m2. Above the seventh floor a curved roof profile rises another three floors, two of which are offices and the third a second plant room.

Price and availability has secured a substantial contract for Oventrop valves at The Peak. The valves, range from boiler room isolation through commissioning sets, differential pressure and double regulating valves to a number of TRV/ lockshield combinations. Further Oventrop isolation valves are installed throughout the building.

The basement plant room has a gas-fired condensing boiler complete with pumps and pressurisation unit. There is also a water storage tank room, an oil tank for a rooftop generator and an air handling unit room. All the valves used at this level are of Oventrop supply including gas and the oil tank isolation facilities. The mechanical services system was designed by consulting engineers, Foreman Roberts for Carillion, the main contractor.

Oventrop’s hydronic balancing valves are located to enable each floor to be independently balanced. Situating balancing valves in this way facilitates modifications should a tenant need to. LPHW and DHW systems using Oventrop valves serve air handling units, toilet areas and a small circuit of 15 radiators in the basement, ground floor and staircases. Sustainable features within the building services include terminal heat pumps linked to ground source cooling, solar hot water heating and photovoltaic arrays. The former two utilise Oventrop valves.
