Balfour Beatty Engineering Services secures education contracts

Balfour Beatty Engineering Services (BBES) has been awarded two education contracts totalling £10 Million in Liverpool and Carlisle.
BBES has been awarded a £5 million contract by Kier, working for Cumbria County Council, to provide plumbing, electrical and mechanical services for the new Richard Rose Central Academy in Carlisle, which will accommodate around 1,500 students. Work is due to start imminently and is scheduled for completion in Spring 2011.
The company has been awarded a £4.7 million contract for full mechanical and electrical services for the West Derby & Ernest Cookson School, under the Liverpool Building Schools for the Future project, for Liverpool City Council. As part of its environmental strategy, BBES will be installing a 500kW biomass boiler which will provide the main heating for the school. The contract is scheduled for completion in the Summer of 2010.
