The boiler scrappage scheme is of great benefit to home owners
(25/02/2010)
The new boiler scrappage scheme introduced by the government makes a new eco-friendly boiler far more cost effective according to Ratedpeople. The government proposal will seek to reduce the cost of installation of a new boiler, helping home owners to benefit from lower bills and a reduced carbon footprint. The onus is on home owners to make the most of the scheme.
Many boiler and power companies have been swift to voice their approval of the scheme, with energy provider npower announcing its own scheme offering a scrappage deal with similar benefits and savings. This will mean that in total home owners could soon save as much as £800 on the cost of a new boiler.
Ottokar Rosenberger, Director of Sales and Marketing for Ratedpeople.com, said: “The boiler scrappage scheme will be of great benefit to home owners, in terms of the money they will be able to save and the value that ecologically friendly boilers can add to homes.
“The scheme as a whole will be instrumental in bringing a large number of homes’ heating systems into the 21st century, where sustainability is of great importance.”
