Webasto installs diesel powered interior heating in K9Cages' dog carrying vehicles

Webasto has been chosen by K9Cages of Tonbridge, Kent, to provide both a supplementary heating system and roof-mounted cooling unit for their latest dog transport vehicles.

K9Cages is converting a wide range of vans for all types of canine organisations and activities. These include charity organisations such as security firms, police forces, GDBA, local councils, dog breeders and field sports enthusiasts. Each cage system is individually tailored to a particular vehicle, from simple single installations to split cages, each type accommodating dogs in safety and comfort. All cages feature rattle-free, bespoke construction and can include locking doors, removable divides, escape panels, ramps and slide out or water resistant floors.

Interior heating is provided by a Webasto Air Top 2000ST diesel powered air heater. This is a versatile system with low power and fuel consumption, quiet operation, variable heat output and integrated diagnostics. Once the winter is over interior cooling is via a Webasto NiteCool roof mount unit, selected by K9Cages to minimise the vehicle’s environmental impact – the NiteCool operates using water, rather than refrigerant gases, providing up to 850m³/h of free-blowing cooled air. In addition, NiteCool can be operated whether the vehicle’s engine is running or not, providing further environmental benefits from reduced exhaust emissions.
