(06/03/2007)
Sentinel has completed the purchase of Sutton Coldfield-based Salamander Engineering Ltd.
Salamander was established in 1972 and has over the years, developed a range of products to tackle the problems of hard water, corrosion in central heating systems and unfiltered water for drinking and cooking. Sentinel is the leading European manufacturer of products designed to clean and protect residentrial central heating and other domestic water systems.
Sentinel’s Chief Executive Officer, Gary Roebuck says the purchase is another key step in the growth of the Sentinel Group: “Since Sentinel was acquired by the Riverside Company in 2005, we have seen significant organic growth of the business, both here in the UK and in mainland Europe, expanding our operations in Italy, Germany and France in particular. Further growth by acquisition has always been in our plans and we are delighted that we have been able to negotiate the purchase of Salamander, which will continue to operate under its established branding, as part of the Sentinel Group here in the UK. We’re delighted that Sue Clews has agreed to stay on to head up this business for us.”
