Zenex Super Efficient System increases DHW flow rate and reduces hot water cost

Zenex Technologies, creators of the Zenex GasSaver heat recovery device, has applied its patented CoolFlue technology to develop a new domestic hot water system that can save households over 50% of their domestic hot water (DHW) costs and provide, at the same time, a 100% increase in the DHW flow rate.

The Zenex Super Efficient (SE) System is a domestic hot water system that provides flexibility and a high efficiency from its standard 32kW combi boiler together with an ‘on-demand’ high DHW flow rate comparable to that of 65 kW boiler used with a 250 litre storage cylinder.

The SE system operates like a traditional combi system but has two added Zenex innovations to give both flue gas heat recovery from the Zenex GasSaver and also a high DHW flow rate capability over selected periods from the Zenex primary circuit heat storage cylinder which incorporates an integral cold main heat exchanger. This makes the whole system extremely efficient and cost effective for the householder.

It is simple to install and will deliver up to 20 litres a minute for 10 minutes, being enough hot water to fill two baths. The system has a regeneration time of only six minutes. For the high flow rate hot water delivery the boiler is activated by the standard twin channel time clock configuration or by manual override.

Chris Farrell, Managing Director at Zenex Technologies explains the advantages of the system “Combis are often associated with flow rate problems because they have no water storage tank and because water is heated on demand. They are extremely popular because they are space saving but even in small households demand for instant hot water often outstrips the boilers capacity to deliver. Our SE System is an ideal compromise because you don’t need lots of space in fact the storage cylinder can fit neatly into a standard size kitchen cupboard. Adding the GasSaver just makes the whole system that much more environmentally beneficial so that we recycle any wasted energy and deliver hotter water faster thus reducing the need for as much energy or water consumption as a standard boiler requires.”

The SE System is supplied as a complete kit including 32kW gas combi boiler, Zenex GasSaver, Zenex hot water storage cylinder and additional components ready for installation to a standard pipework system.
