A new energy price war has broken out with announcements from two major energy suppliers that they will cut their gas prices. British Gas has cut its electricity prices by 5%, while SSE has said it will cut gas prices by 4.5% in March.
These follow an announcement on wednesday 11th from EDF Energy that its gas bills will be cut by 5% after a decline in wholesale prices. It is thought the other energy firms will follow suit with similar price cuts.
