Bath time scalding causes 570 serious injuries and amazingly 20 deaths every year. Every bath scald could be avoided with the use of an anti-scald valves, a device that is plumbed directly into the bathroom. Regulations are in place in Scotland that compel new homes to be fitted with the valves which blend hot and cold water together to achieve a safe temperature.
