A luxury holiday lettings company has chosen renewable energy from a Danfoss ground source heat pump for a barn conversion in rural Lincolnshire. Plumb Center launches micro-CHP training

The UK’s first micro-CHP course has been launched by Plumb Center at Greenbuild Expo. The one-day training coursewill be available in three training centres across the UK and covers both the theoretical and practical aspects of installing, commissioning and maintaining a Baxi micro-CHP boiler for domestic applications. Baxi Ecogen uses a free piston Stirling engine to generate up to 1kW electricity while it is providing space heating and hot water, which is usually at times of peak electrical demand. F-Gas Legislation : gas engineers still not trained to the required standards

According to Develop Training, still thousands gas engineers still not trained to the required F-Gas standards. Mark Dougall, Director at Develop Training, explained: “Many engineers did not comply with the July 2011 deadline and many are now working illegally.
